Western Pest Control Service is owned and operated by Greg Laurich in Whittier,
California. Our company was founded in 1931 by Greg's grandfather, Ronald W. Hunt, Sr.,
when the primary operation was to spray the many citrus orchards of the Greater Whittier
Area. As pest control needs moved more towards structural and residential requirements,
Ron Hunt found himself as President of The Structural Pest Control Board and was the
original Commissioner of Examinations putting in place the testing procedures for pest
control operators and field representatives. In the 1960's Greg's father, Herm, took over
operation of the company and worked in the office daily in an advisory capacity
until his passing in February 2005..
In order to recognize what Western Pest Control Service is, it's important to recognize
what we are not. For example:
*We are not merely a branch operation of some giant national organization that expects us
to generate a flood of dollars to be sent back to some distant headquarters. This business
in Whittier is our sole operation. We either get it right here or we're out of business.
*We aren't just in business here. We live here, too. Our customers are also our friends
and neighbors. Whatever affects the Whittier Area affects us too. Not just as a business,
but as a family with roots here going back four generations. We're active in our Chamber
of Commerce and many civic, service and youth organizations.

more than that and we make every effort to excel with a totally professional service that
doesn't put the dollar first and your pest problem second. Our inspectors do not work on
commission. They're paid the same whether they find something wrong or not. Getting the
job done right the first time is their motivation.
